An hour-long documentary on Alberto Santos-Dumont, a Brazilian aviator who made his fame in Paris c. 1900 and was one of the first to fly. Shot on three continents, the film tells the story of this pioneering inventor of aircraft that dreamed of making flight a part of our everyday lives. When he flew in a dirigible around the Eiffel Tower in 1906 and won the famed Deutsch Prize, he was arguably the most famous man in the world. The film premiered during primetime on PBS’s award winning NOVA series.
